Finally Got a Puppy!!!!

Okay so I FINALLY got what I have been wanting.
NO, it's not a baby girl…
Its a PUPPY!!!!!
Her name is Marlee, and she is a shorkie!

I am beyond happy.  She gets along with the kids perfectly, and she has been behaving very well for being in her new environment.
So far, she has only pooped in the house once, but I have gotten her to successfully pee outside ;)
She is the perfect lap dog and I cannot wait to have her be my cuddle buddy!!
On another serious note, I found out I am getting my tonsils taken out next Thursday!!!! This is a long time coming, as my tonsils have been giving me trouble for years now.
I am just a little nervous because I have never had a surgery like this before so I have no idea what to expect!
Any suggestions??

Until next time…

  1. Just relax!! You're a trooper!! Just make sure that your house is stocked up with ice pops, pudding, jello, and anything soft and easy to swallow! You can DO IT!!

  2. You could puree' a cheeseburger and drink it with a straw. Sounds a bit nasty but two of my friends who had broken jaws, wired shut for almost a year, were a bit desperate at times and just wanted that cheeseburger so bad!

  3. Suggestions for surgery -- Have your husband or someone video tape you when you wake up. There is a good chance it will be HILARRRRRRIOUS. lol :)

Suggestions for potty training (i saw you ask on facebook but since im on here giving advice...ill just do it on here....) DONT USE POTTY PADS. They sound great and save your carpet, but it teaches your dog that its OK to pee in the house. Also, use the bell system. My mom does is and i SO desprately wish i could go back in time and do it. All you do is tack up a bell on a string next to the door that you are going to let your dog out of...everytime you let it out, you ring the bell. Eventually the dog will ring the bell to let you know it needs to go out. Its amazing. I know a few other people who do it that way as well.

Another thing i have heard is to not discipline your dog for going inside. I know that sounds wierd, but my vet said that its not good for them. Instead you just praise them verbally and physically in a REALLY dramatic way (and with treats of course) when they DO go outside. The joy of that will make them want to keep doing it! It has worked for our pup
